Overview
The College's Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) Program reviews and assesses infection prevention and control practices in physician offices and clinics. Led by an IPAC Committee, the program's work includes:
- promoting infection prevention and control standards to physicians and their office staff,
- auditing compliance with those standards and, where necessary,
- inspecting reprocessing practices in physicians' offices. (full terms of reference)
In the future, the IPAC Committee will focus on educating physicians about general infection prevention measures such as respiratory etiquette, hand-washing and office cleanliness.
